A highly respected, award-winning Virginia law firm with multiple offices statewide is seeking an experienced Estate Administration and/or Estate Litigation Attorney to join its team in the Fairfax, Virginia area. The firm is widely recognized for its collaborative culture, strong leadership, and commitment to exceptional service. As the practice continues to grow, the firm is looking to add an attorney focused on estate administration, probate matters, and/or estate litigation. Candidates should have relevant experience practicing within the Virginia court system, with courtroom exposure strongly preferred. The firm is willing to train on the estate administration specifics as long as the candidate has experience litigating in Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage estate administration and probate matters from inception through final resolution
  • Represent clients in estate litigation matters, including will contests, fiduciary disputes, trust disputes, and related hearings
  • Draft pleadings, motions, probate filings, and other legal documents
  • Communicate regularly with clients, courts, fiduciaries, and opposing counsel
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support teams across the firm's Virginia offices
  • Manage deadlines, court appearances, and case strategy in both contested and uncontested matters

Qualifications

  • Active Virginia Bar license in good standing
  • Demonstrated experience practicing in the Virginia court system
  • Direct estate litigation, probate, or estate administration experience strongly preferred
  • Strong litigation, drafting, and case management skills
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team setting
  • Willingness to commute to the Fairfax area office and other nearby locations as needed
